Gwendola Belle Gaffney, 99, of Arthur, died at 4:55 AM Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Arthur Home.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, with Rev. John Stewart officiating. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.

Mrs. Gaffney was born March 4, 1912 in Tuscola, the daughter of Theo and Ida Mae Hyser Kinney. She married Charles R. Gaffney in Tuscola on Dec. 25, 1930; he preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1998.

She is survived by one son, Duane Gaffney and wife Grace of Alto Pass, IL; 7 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Sharp; one grandson; and her parents.

Mrs. Gaffney was a long-time employee of the Arthur Schools as head cook. She was a member of the Arthur First Baptist Church.
