Barbara Dean Gerichs, 89, of Arthur, died at 9:40 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2025 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon.

Private family service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, with Danny Powell as officiant.  Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery.

Barbara was born February 8, 1936 in Evansville, Indiana, the daughter of Frank and Viola Moore Holder.  She married Glenn Gerichs in New Harmony, Indiana on March 4, 1960.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn Gerichs of Arthur; 2 sons, Roger (Sarah) Gerichs of Metamora; Scott Gerichs of Arthur; granddaughter, Jamie (Nathan) Williams of Noblesville, Indiana; two great grandchildren, Brady and Brylee.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Holder; and sister, Roberta Mounts.

Barbara had worked at Rockome Gardens for 30 years.  She was a member of the Arthur United Methodist Church.
