Barbara M. Deem, 91, of Tuscola, passed away suddenly at 7:20 p.m, Sunday, October 19, 2025 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL

Barbara was born on July 18, 1934 in Tuscola, the daughter of Alfred L. and Edith Blanch Collings Weatherford. She married William R. Deem on September 13, 1952 in rural Arthur, IL. They recently celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary. He survives.

Also surviving are their daughters: Deborah A. Steiner and husband: Jim of Sparta, Vicki L. Mowery of Robinson and Marcia G. Deem of St. Joseph, son: William Russell Deem of Tuscola, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, brothers: Raymond Weatherford of Fredericksburg, TX, Harold Weatherford of Peoria and Bruce Weatherford of Tuscola, sister: Harriett Weatherford of Sidney.

She was preceded by her parents, infant son: Aaron Deem and her brother: Richard Weatherford.

Barb graduated from Tuscola Community High School in 1952. She formerly worked at the grocery store in Pesotum and William's grocery store in Tuscola for several years. Barb also worked at JR North Furniture Store in Tuscola and she was a member of the Jarman Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered in the hospital gift shop.

Barb was the coordinator for the Tuscola Township Clothing Bank for many years. She was an avid collector, and she enjoyed weaving, crocheting, knitting, camping, boating and riding on their golf cart.

Per Barb's wishes, no public services will be held.
