Arnold E. Hutchens, 90, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 7:45 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral and Masonic Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with Rev. Kenneth Roedder officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery with military graveside rites accorded.

Arnold was born on February 18, 1926 in Lamar, AR. He married Anita L. Chaplin on March 11, 1977 in Tuscola, IL. She preceded him in death on August 19, 2012.

Survivors include his son: Harold Hutchens of Champaign, daughter: Cheryl Broady of Villa Grove, 2 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 step-sons: Dennis (Cathy) Chaplin of Camargo and Mark (Cathy) Chaplin of Tuscola, 2 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren and his little dog: Sugar.

Arnold and his wife moved back to Tuscola in April 2010 after residing in Russellville, AR for 18 years.

Arnold was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #324. He worked for many years as a pipeline worker, mechanic and welder. He was a very hard worker and worked all over the country for different pipeline companies. Arnold served his country during World War II as a Sergeant in the US Army.

Arnold was a member of the Tuscola Masonic Lodge #332, AF & AM and the VFW. He loved to go deer hunting, fishing and eating out. Arnold enjoyed helping people in need and loved telling great stories.
