Andrew Wayne "Andy" McGillen, 22, of Ft. Myers, FL, formerly of Tuscola, IL, died at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 24, 2006 as a result of an automobile accident in Ft. Myers, FL
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Monday, October 30, 2006 at the Tuscola First Christian Church, 300 East Northline Road, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Scott Zorn and Father Barry Harmon officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM, Sunday, October 29, 2006 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.
Mr. McGillen was born on August 3, 1984 in Mattoon, IL, the son of Kent R. and Anna K. Meyer McGillen.
Survivors include: His Parents of Tuscola, IL, 1 Sister: Whitney McGillen of Tuscola, IL, Paternal Grandparents: Bob & Vivian McGillen of Sarasota, FL, Maternal Grandparents: Wayne & Margaret Meyer of Tuscola, IL
In Lieu of Flowers: Memorials are suggested to the Andrew W. McGillen Memorial Fund C/O First State Bank of Tuscola, 801 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL 61953: The memorial fund will be used to establish a golf scholarship thru the Tuscola Community High School and to purchase a tree in memory of Andy to be planted at the Iron Horse Golf Course.
Mr. McGillen was a member of the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, Tuscola, IL. He was a 2003 Graduate of Tuscola Community High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, T-Club, Basketball Team, Track Team and Golf Team. He received his associate degree in science from Parkland College, Champaign, IL. He was currently working towards his bachelor degree in professional golf management from Florida Gulf Coast University, Ft. Myers, FL. He formerly worked as a pharmacy technician at The Pharmacy, Tuscola, IL and he worked at the Iron Horse Golf Course, Tuscola, IL. He was currently working at Grandezza County Club, Ft. Myers, FL. He was a member of the Men's League Golf Club at Iron Horse Golf Course. He was a member of the Wheels Car Club of Tuscola, IL. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan. He enjoyed fishing and taking care of his car. He loved to spend time with his girlfriend: Shaina Burgner and his family and friends.
