Obituary

Amy Zelma Chatham, 91, of Atwood, IL, was welcomed home by her Savior on January 13, 2009.

She was born on September 26, 1917 in Center Point, IN, to Terry and Vinnie (Boyce) Crafton, and married Charles W. Chatham on June 1, 1935.

Over the years, Amy and her late husband, Charles, owned and operated a small neighborhood grocery store and owned and operated a restaurant in Brazil, IN. She was known for her pies. She and her late husband wintered in Florida until his death in 1987.

After her husband's death, she moved to Atwood, IL to live with her daughter and son-in-law.

Amy was very active in her later years. She loved to travel and was involved in many activities with her family and friends until her health prevented her from participating in those activities.

Amy is survived by a son, Charles (Bill) Chatham of WI, a daughter: Karen D. Litteral and son-in-law: Garry R. Litteral of IL, daughter-in-law: Maryellen Chatham of Brownsburg, IN, 6 Grandchildren: Steve Chatham (wife: Linda), Chris Chatham (wife: Patty), and Nick Chatham (wife: Cari) all of WI, Bev Riddle (husband: Mark), Chris Litteral (wife: Missy) of IL, and Brian Litteral (wife: Shelly) of UT, 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, 3 brothers: Merle Crafton, Lewis Crafton Terry Crafton, Jr. and one sister: Wanita West all of IN, several nieces and nephews and extended family members and beloved friends.

Amy was preceded in death by her parents: Vinnie and Terry Crafton, husband: Charles William Chatham, son: Larry Warren Chatham, daughter-in-law: Josephine Mary Chatham, grandson: Anthony John Chatham & Andrew John Litteral, siblings: Warren Crafton, Norma Jean Crafton, Glen Crafton, Joan LeMay, Carol Montgomery, Ann Kroeger, Marie Crafton, Lloyd Crafton and Lela Chatham.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., (EST), Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Lawson Miller Memorial Chapel, 1702 East National Ave., Brazil, IN, with Pastor Willard Kauffman officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Summit Lawn Cemetery, southwest of Brazil, IN.
